2. Data collection

  • Routes designed in line with the Euro NCAP protocol: ≥ 2000 km, covering multiple countries, and a balanced mix of highway, interurban, and urban driving, day and night.
  • A single non-expert driver is sufficient, either provided by IVEX or from your team.
  • Efficient data logging and straightforward upload to the IVEX platform.
  • Encryption to ensure data integrity and security.

3. Data Processing

  • Our software applies machine learning on dashboard camera images to detect the speed limit as posted by the vehicle’s Speed Limit Information Function (SLIF).
  • The actual applicable speed limit (ASL) on the road at any given moment is determined through a combination of environment image recognition and map-based data.
  • Comparing the SLIF and ASL results, the IVEX software automatically captures all Euro NCAP SLIF events and calculates the related event-based and distance-based KPIs used for the vehicle’s star rating.
