Data Analytics expertise to the benefit of Evaluation Protocols

Leveraging ADAS/AD data analytics to design Euro NCAP’s testing protocols
Euro NCAP partners with IVEX for the world’s first on-road robustness evaluation and assessment initiative. The project aims to develop the protocols for on-road robustness evaluation for active safety systems in passenger cars which will be in vigor starting in 2026 (Euro NCAP protocol 2026).
The European New Car Assessment Programme (Euro NCAP) is a European voluntary car safety performance assessment program based in Leuven, Belgium. They created the five-star safety rating system to help consumers, their families, and businesses compare vehicles more easily and to help them identify the safest choice for their needs.

IVEX brings valuable expertise to this vision, and we look forward to the insights of this collaboration.
Project
The project seeks to enhance the Euro NCAP protocols for active safety systems by introducing on-road robustness evaluation criteria in the assessment process. IVEX plays a major role in data analytics, reporting, and tools – ensuring comprehensive and insightful assessment criteria of all the data collected during on-road driving campaigns.
Challenge
- Adapting testing methodologies to ADAS/AD to better reflect real-world driving scenarios
- Ensuring accuracy in assessment incorporating on-road behavior
- Legal and data access concerns
Solution
- Strategic collaboration between data analytics and testing experts
- Integration of real-world driving scenarios into the assessment process
Outcomes
- More accurate evaluation of ADAS capabilities by incorporating on-road driving
- IVEX and Euro NCAP evolve testing approaches for on-road evaluation and test data management
- Contribution to future safety evaluation
